Love Stories of Oakland
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a look back on some of Oakland Cemetery’s tales of everlasting love on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18. Love Stories of Oakland recounts the loves, lives, and losses of Atlantans of days past.
This hour-long tour explores some of the frequent symbols of love and devotion found throughout the cemetery. Tickets to Love Stories of Oakland must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available online only. Please visit the website for more details.
Workout with the Whale Sharks at Georgia Aquarium
Break a sweat at the most unique and inspiring fitness studio Atlanta has to offer – Georgia Aquarium! Workout by the Water offers yoga, Pilates and boot camp classes led by local fitness instructors. Classes are designed to challenge students of all experience levels. Workouts take place in the magnificent Oceans Ballroom, offering incredible views of manta rays and whale sharks guaranteed to motivate you to become a healthier and happier you.
The class is $10 and takes place from 6:30 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20. All proceeds from Workout by the Water benefit Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation initiatives. Visit the website for more details.
Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Hunger Walk Run
The Hunger Walk Run, an annual 5K walk and “fun run,” is an event of the Atlanta Community Food Bank that unites the Atlanta community to raise awareness and critical funds for local hunger relief. Proceeds from the event benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank and other local nonprofit organizations that support food pantries, community kitchens, shelters and other programs for people in need of food assistance.
