Atlanta From the Ashes: Downtown History Tour

Dive into the rich history of Woodruff Park and the surrounding Downtown Atlanta district during this one-hour guided tour. This free tour is offered Thursday, June 7 and Sunday, June 24. The tour begins at noon by the Reading Room on the north end of Woodruff Park.

Located in the heart of Downtown, the tour of Woodruff Park and its surroundings touch on some of the most influential people and events of Atlanta’s modern history. From the Civil Rights movement to the birth and growth of the Coca-Cola Company, guests will hear about the buildings that once stood in and around the park, about those who bought and sold the property that is now part of the park and major historical events that happened nearby.

FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION AT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

On Sunday, June 17, celebrate all the fathers in your family with a fun-filled day at the Children’s Museum of Art! Hand-in-hand with your dad, join the Imaginators on stage to learn about how Father’s Day is celebrated around the world. During this special Father’s Day visit, guests can create tie holders in the Build It Lab, or a decorative, “all about dad” poster detailing their favorite things about their dad or father-figure in the Art Studio. Dads can also sharpen their cooking skills alongside their kids during the Eat a Georgia Rainbow cooking class.

SUMMER SPARKLES AT WORLD OF COCA-COLA

As Atlanta brings the heat this summer, World of Coca-Cola brings the cool with refreshing moments of fun. From a new exhibit about Sprite Boy, the elfin ambassador of Coca-Cola from the 1940s, to a global tasting experience, the attraction features summertime entertainment for families and friends of all ages.
